The Providence Collection and Sustainable Manufacturing

Introducing “The Providence Collection” and announcing the launch date

Throughout my “Modesty Hut” journey I have learnt how unethical, unsustainable and harmful clothes manufacturing industry can be. Countless hours spent in researching and educating myself has resulted in a wealth of knowledge about fabrics and manufacturing processes as well as feelings of disappointment and disheartenment.

What I have learnt has made me feel uneasy with what Modesty Hut was offering at that moment and set me on a mission to find a better way to observe the hijab. A way that would be in line with my faith and faith of my sisters. Muslim women should be able to cover in confidence that their hijab isn’t compromised by unethical manufacturing practices. It took me six long months to find exactly what I was looking for Alhumdulillah.

My search has brought me to a supplier that ticked all the boxes:

• Sustainability;

• Fair-Trade;

• Made in NOT China (sweat shops are a big No to me);

• Environmentally-friendly manufacturing;

• Free from harmful chemicals;

• Excluded deforestation.

Once I saw the samples I was in love with the fabric. That was the hijab of my dreams: natural shades of earthy colours made of breathable light silky fabric that felt soft and smooth on my skin. Subtle sheen was adding a special touch to this already perfect fabric. I knew that was it and that my sisters had to have it.

There is so much work has gone (and still goes on) behind the scenes to bring this special hijab to Modesty Hut. It is going to happen though INSHAALLAH.

The brand-new range of ethical hijabs is launching on 29th January 2021

Made of biodegradable premium rayon modal fabric, it will be light as a feather, smooth like the silk, beautiful like the Earth. It’s The Providence collection.

Keep your eyes peeled for an introductory 48-hour offer that will be announced on our Instagram and Facebook accounts.
